PPP is basically an emblem of Labors. CEO Asif khan in his speech on labor day reminded the audience the glorious day when Bhutto procession in Lahore was greeted by masses notable labors since than PPP policies are labor friendly and never forgot the hard work rendered by farmers, brick makers and others. The name of the party was kept after much consideration that is Pakistan People’s party who recognized the fact that real strength lies in the hands of common people. Since than party is benefitting labor classes through agriculture and land reforms which other parties don’t pay heed. Respected Benazir Bhutto lifted ban on trade Union to uplift the morale of laborers and to hear the un-heard cries ignored by other party and leaders. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has clearly negated the concept of privatization since it will further take way the rights of labor class. PPP is an emblem of rights of labors. He further said we are not against industrialist but ignoring wishes of labors and not giving due rights will raise the differences among rich and poor. It will have a bad impact on economy of Pakistan. He further discussed that with such attitude towards masses revolution is bound to happen as seen in other countries but if this revolution take place swiftly and favorable way it would be welcomed.
Ramzan Laghari, leader of Labor Union was handed over the mike who expressed dismay towards the working of present government towards the masses especially the labor class and insisted that PPP is the only party who truly represented the labors and never ride rough on wishes of the poor. He was the only one on behalf of PPP who stepped forward against the privatization of airlines. It is only due to Bhutto’s policy that people are sitting to hear the voices of laborers. He ended with beautiful poetic verses about laborers.
Nasir Zaidi started with Quranic verses and quoted beautiful words of Holy Prophet that laborers should be paid at the instant the work was done. He insisted that doing good with laborers will be paid by Allah Almighty. Hearing news like cutting wages and pensions infuriate the laborers. He used this forum to address government to do utmost for the laborers.
Malik Muneebur Rehman also recognized the effort of PPP towards laborers and thanked the Shaheed Bhutto foundation who stepped forward and sit together to find out the lapse in rules and regulations related to the labor class.
Shoaib khan also emphasized that only PPP is the party which has friendly attitude towards labors. He further added that only laborers are loyals towards PPP. It is high time to make Government realize the importance of laborers. Thousands of laborers have been victimized but they never changed their loyalties towards PPP. Now it’s high time this blood shed should be stopped.
Syed Ahsan Raza Advocate called PPP as AwamiJamat which pushes him to join PPP and remained affiliated with this party since then. Life has been made difficult for the laborers its high time to enable them to live a life with dignity and honor.
Dr. Sadia Kamal expressed her gratitude that she was feeling exotic by sitting among people who truly worked for the labor class. She expressed her dismay that no proper data is present regarding the laborers and mostly kids are working which is against labor laws. She urged the authorities to pay heed towards issues like child labor.
Sajid Tanoli also expressed that no Labor Union of any party except PPP is there who is again and again raising voice against privatization. He expressed lost of insight by Government who is blindly following IMF and other foreign policies which can do no good towards the country.
Ch. Shaukat Ali also explained the history of Labor Union which is again and again targeted and banned for no reason. However ,no single incident of misuse was proven towards labor class and Union. Negating Marxism will do no good but will instill the feeling of hatred towards leaders.
Mr. HarisKhalique mentioned lack of education that is causing the trouble. Enforcing laws that promote education and discipline will do much better towards the labor class.
Dr.Amar Lal also expressed dissatisfaction towards privatization which has totally crashed the economy of the country and lowers the value of currency. This devaluation has made road towards price hike and poverty. PPP is the one promoting laborers without creating any concept of racialism and provincialism.
At the end Education Minister of Gilgit,Mr. Ghulam Shahzadargued that present conditions are the result of laborers not willing to stand as one as they prioritize themselves over others.We need to stand as a community and move as a single hand forward. He expressed that moving in a unity will definitely stop the privatization. He will do utmost to lessen privatization as much as he can.
At the end, CEO Asif Khan thanked everyone for sitting and raising grave concerns regarding laborers.
