Benazir Democracy Institute (BDI)

The institute was earlier known as Peoples Democracy Institute but was renamed as BDI after the tragic martyrdom of the Founding Patron. It endeavors to promote democracy, strengthen democratic institutions, advance the cause of human rights through education, information, collaboration, coordination and communication. It is geared towards building the capacity of political and civil society leadership on the contemporary styles of democracy. It would initiate Certificate, Diploma and Degree Courses in the most neglected and crucial areas of democracy, elections management, community mobilization and human rights. The institute will be supported by a state of the art Resource Center where research facilities would be extended through a Research cell and an up-to-date database. BDI offers capacity building programs, organizes awareness campaigns, advocacy initiatives, seminars and workshops.

BDI has launched National Dialogue Forum which endeavors to sensitize different stakeholders about the issues of national importance having assumed critical proportions, which leads to laying the ground for different campaigners to unfurl their flags for various initiatives in the move towards democratic solution of the issues.
